An office interior renovation in the central area of Gifu City, Japan. Starting from the diagnosis of changes from the original without records, the design is focused on how the structure of space can be softly connected to the city scape with minimal interventions, generously adapting to future changes. Three main things done are; excavating the closed existing windows for light and wind, reconstructing the flat floor with additional insulation, and coordinating interior apertures and wall colors for better sequence of scenery.
岐阜市中心部の、履歴のわからない改変が重ねられていた店舗テナントを事務所に改修する計画。大きな操作としては３点、塞がれていた既存開口部３か所を掘り当て復活させて採光通風を取り戻したこと、床を平滑に張り替えながら必要な箇所に断熱補強を施したこと、そして、室内を仕切る間仕切り・開口を最小限に整え、壁の色調整と併せ、街の風景との関係性を取り持てるようシークエンスを整理したことである。当初の需要に対し大きな余剰面積を持つ空間が、先の変化を受け入れてもなお心地よく使えるべく、街とささやかに接続し続けられるような空間の骨格を設えている。
