A renovation of a flat house made by a mass-producing firm, whose standards have been so pervaded that they are main components of Japanese Suburbia. Within the limited budget and timeline, I renovated interior plan as large and simple as possible without touching exterior walls and windows. The existing structure and exsiting piping route was modified very minimally, yet the atmosphere of the dark kitchen was changed into very bright and communicative one by this minimum move. In bright and relaxing atmosphere as a whole, the designed elements such as fixed furniture(bed, table, etc) and doors will be positive background of life for this family.
郊外住宅地に建つ、平屋のハウスメーカー住宅の一棟改修。設計２ヶ月・施工２ヶ月で完成。外装とサッシには手をつけず、内部動線・平面計画を整理して、倉庫・ベッドスペースである大きな木の箱を中央に据えた回遊式のプランとした。他と切り離されていたキッチンは、カウンターの向きを変え、リビングダイニングと空間をつなげた。空間構成は単純明快としながら、既存躯体(軽量鉄骨柱)や既存の和室の障子などのもともとの状態を手がかりとして製作家具や建具を半ば即興的に設え、部屋未満のスケールで特徴のあるスペースを少しずつ散りばめて、それらが新しい家庭の生活の小さな手がかり、そして新しい日常となることを目指した。
